Rosie and Dinka are six month old cattle dog mixes from rural MS. Their mom was a unspayed stray that gave birth to a litter of puppies. The family was left to fend for themselves. The puppies had very little human contact for the first few months of their lives. Lucky for them they were rescued and have been with a foster since mid May that has worked with them to learn to trust humans. Rosie and Dinka are now ready to make the big journey north to find their furever homes. Their ideal home will be a patient home, one that will continue to work with the pup to build confidence perhaps with another well rounded, socialized dog and a fenced yard. The girls need work with their leash skills. Dinka will be an active dog who would make a wonderful agility dog. She needs to be physically active and use her brain as most herding breeds do. Rosie is happy to lie around on the couch. This is a very timid dog. She will need training, structure and lots of love and patience.

Our dogs are only shown to approved applicants at time of adoption outside.* As with all our dogs we will require proof of a obedience course as we feel it is very important for the new family regardless of previous dog training experience to complete a training class soon after adoption to not only establish basic obedience but to bond with your new dog as well as socialize it. Many trainers have resumed training including outdoor classes.

Applicants must be at least 21 years old. A volunteer will be in touch to discuss you your application and the dog to determine if a good match. Your references, including your vet will be called. A virtual home visit done and finally a meet and greet and adoption if all are in agreement. Adopt fee is $425 for adults, $475 for dogs under 1 yr. which includes core vaccines, dewormed, current on flea/tick and heartworm preventatives, microchip, health certificate, heart worm/lyme test if over 6 months and spayed or neutered.
