General Norwegian Elkhound Description: The Norwegian Elkhound is one of the Northern Spitz-type breed of dog and is the National Dog of Norway. The Elkhound has served as a hunter, guardian, herder, and defender. It is known for its courage in tracking and hunting moose and other large game, such as bears or wolves. Hypoallergenic: No Weight: 49 – 55 lbs Height: 19 – 20 in. Life expectancy: 12 – 15 years Temperament: Strong Willed, Bold, Hardy, Alert, Loyal, Playful Colors: Grey, Silver

Our dogs are only shown to approved applicants at time of adoption outside.* As with all our dogs we will require proof of a obedience course as we feel it is very important for the new family regardless of previous dog training experience to complete a training class soon after adoption to not only establish basic obedience but to bond with your new dog as well as socialize it. Many trainers have resumed training including outdoor classes. A virtual home visit done and finally a meet and greet and adoption if all are in agreement. Adopt fee is $425 for adults, $475 for dogs under 1 yr. which includes core vaccines, dewormed, current on flea/tick and heartworm preventatives, microchip, health certificate, heart worm/lyme test if over 6 months and spayed or neutered.
